The Dayton's Project announces first major office tenant image

The Dayton’s Project has officially announced their first office tenant.

Ernst & Young (EY) will occupy 30,536 square feet of space on the fifth floor of the massive 1.2 million square foot project. The U.K.-based accounting firm will move into their new digs later this year and when they do so will some of their nearly 800 employees.

If you're unfamiliar with The Dayton’s Project, it's a 12-story mixed-use building that was originally home to Dayton's department store and was most recently home to Macy’s Flagship Minneapolis location. After an extensive head to toe renovation and restoration, the building now includes over 800,000 square feet of office space and 200,000 square feet of retail space. The building will also soon be home to “Dayton’s Market,” a 45,000 square foot food hall that will be curated by celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern.

The Dayton’s Project has officially been complete for over half a year; however, the impacts of COVID-19 has prevented the project from officially holding its grand opening. Now that vaccinations are occurring the project hopes to be able to plan a safe grand opening later this year.

We’ve followed The Dayton’s Project ever since it was first announced. In fact, we actually checked out the finished project last July and saw it in its full glory. And let us tell you, it’s absolutely stunning. The Dayton’s Project is located at 700 Nicollet Mall in the Downtown West neighborhood.
