A new restaurant and bar focusing on tapas and wine is opening in the North Loop.

Barcelona Wine Bar
will make their Minnesota debut later this year on the ground floor of The Duffey. The restaurant and bar will occupy a street level space within historic two-story portion of the building located at 508 Washington Avenue N.

Barcelona Wine Bar prides itself on its restaurant experience and extensive offerings. Every restaurant shares the same name and culture, but has its own Executive Chef who writes his/her menu nightly.

β€œThe cuisine is clean and rustic, with tapas shaped by Mediterranean, Spanish, and South American influences. β€œThe tapas are both simple and elegant using the finest seasonal picks from local markets and unusual specialties from Spain and the Mediterranean. The flavors are bold and the ingredients speak for themselves” according to Barcelona’s website.

When it comes to the wine, Barcelona has one of the largest Spanish wine programs in the United States and will offer an extensive selection from Spain and South America. Over 40 wines will be served by the glass and around 500 by the bottle, spanning more than 100 regions. Barcelona is constantly expanding and refining their wine offerings. In addition to wine, craft cocktails, beer, and a host of other beverages will also be available.

The first Barcelona Wine Bar was opened by partners Andy Pforzheimer and Sasa Mahr-Batuz in Norwalk, CT in 1996. Since then, the company has expanded to have 22 locations in 11 states with even more planned. Barcelona is currently hiring several positions for the Minneapolis location m including Executive Chef and Sous Chef. For more information on available positions, click here.

Barcelona Wine Bar will be located at 508 Washington Avenue N and is anticipated to open in Summer 2024.
