BASS PRO SHOPS OPENING IN HERMANTOWN

Bass Pro Shops is coming to the Twin Ports early next year.

The outdoor specialty retailer, which was founded over 50 years ago in 1972, today announced plans for a new location in Hermantown. The location will open in what was formerly a building that housed Camping World.

Bass Pro Shops is excited to serve “the passionate sportsmen and women of the region with the widest selection of quality products at the best prices around” according to their press release. The Hermantown location will be the first Bass Pro Shops location in the State of Minnesota; however, it will be the company’s fifth retail presence in the state as they have now joined forces with Cabela’s.

The new 70,000 square foot store will be housed within an existing building which will be renovated. The company has stated that there may be a small addition that is constructed to expand the building and that they do plan to reconfigure the parking lot while adding other site improvements.

The Twin Port’s Bass Pro Shops location will be an "Outpost" location which is smaller than what most individuals are familiar with if they’ve visited a location elsewhere in the country. At 70,000 square feet, the location will be about half the size of some of the company’s most iconic locations, which are "Outdoor World" locations. That doesn’t mean that you’ll necessary feel any difference when it comes to the products or services offered. You can still expect to experience the full Bass Pro Shops world, just in a condensed footprint.

The news that Bass Pro Shops is opening within the Twin Ports finally puts to rest the rumors of Cabela’s opening in the area, rumors that have been swirling for nearly two decades. But why? Bass Pro Shops acquired Cabela’s in 2017 for nearly $4 billion with the two companies now operating as a single company. Both Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s continue to operate under separate banners and still are opening stores under each name/concept.

Bass Pro Shops plans to open in Hermantown at 4275 Haines Road in early 2025.
