TO OUR COMMUNITY

We’ve struggled to find the right words and to be honest, still haven’t. However, we know we can’t remain silent.

We care so deeply for this community and the individuals that make Minneapolis the place it is.

What has happened in Minneapolis is unbelievable. The murder of George Floyd has us speechless, the protests have us listening, and the destruction of numerous buildings throughout the city and surrounding cities has us looking for ways to help. We want to ensure that everyone knows that we stand with and support the Black community.

The Development Tracker has always been about the community. While we may report on development, we know that what makes Minneapolis the great place it is isn’t the buildings, but rather it’s the people. With everything that has happened in the last week we want you to know that we’re listening, we’re learning, and we’re changing a few things going forward.

You might notice our website and accounts going silent for a bit when it comes to development posts. We’re taking some time to learn about how we can help our community and use our platforms to do so.

This week, and potentially longer, we will not be featuring our Wednesday and Friday question series within our Instagram Stories. Instead we will be using our stories as a platform for ways to help out the community. In addition, at the top of our website you will find a link to organizations and businesses that you can volunteer at or donate to along with drop off locations.

If you have any other ideas for ways that The Development Tracker can help our community, please feel free to contact us here.

Stay strong Minneapolis. We are all in this together and we will work to bring change.
