Plans have been approved for a new residential building near MCAD in the Whittier neighborhood.
Left Lane Ventures, LLC plans to construct a three-story residential building on what today is a vacant site located at 2607 Second Avenue S. The new building will include 12 apartments that feature one and two-bedroom layouts. The project will not include any parking for vehicles but will include a passenger drop-off and loading area along the existing alley at the back of the site.
Designed by Christian Dean Architecture, the new building will feature an entry along 2nd Avenue S that will lead to a corridor that runs through the center of the building to a second entrance that is located off the back alley. Apartments will flank both sides of the corridor on all floors and a staircase to the upper floors will be located at the center of the building.
Each of the four ground floor apartments will have access to small outdoor patios while units on the upper floors will have access to private balconies. Amenities within the building will include a common space and a secured tenant bike parking area on the ground floor. The building will feature a modern design with a mansard roof, colored balconies and will be clad in a thin brick veneer, stucco, and metal paneling.
Construction on 2607 2nd Avenue S is anticipated to begin in summer 2022.
