This could be glimpse of what the future may have in store for the $1.3 billion remake of the now vacant Ford Motor Co. factory site.
Ryan Companies plans have continued to develop over the past few months since the company was announced as the selected developer. They plan to essentially create an entirely new neighborhood, if not small city, on the site located at 966 Mississippi River Blvd S.
The 122 acre site would be transformed in a thriving neighborhood filled with 3,600+ residential units, parks, commercial and office space. The residential units would come in a number of different forms with higher density apartment buildings being located towards the center and Eastern portions of the site and lower density housing being found on the Western side of the site.
A number of changes to their original plan have been requested from Ryan Companies. The St. Paul Comprehensive and Neighborhood Planning Committee will review these requested changes at their Feb 20th meeting before recommending further action.
