Kwik Trip plans second Grand Avenue location

Kwik Trip is at it again and this time it's planning a second store for Grand Avenue.

It was announced last fall that Kwik Trip was planning additional locations in the near future and that one would be near the intersection of Raleigh Street and Grand Avenue. That store will be located at 6520 Grand Avenue on a vacant site next to Walker Display. Construction could begin as early as May.

Plans for a utility easement will go before the city at tonight's planning commission for the planned redevelopment of the vacant corner near the Zoo. The new station will have 15 pumps for regular fueling along with an additional eight pumps for diesel. It will also include a car wash which will make it the second location in the area to include one the only other being at the location on Banks Avenue in Superior. The station will also include compressed natural gas.

Kwik Trip currently has opened eight locations within the Twin Ports area. The company recently stated that plans for up to 15 locations are in the works. Plans are still on track for additional locations to be constructed this summer. One will be located at the corner of Arlington Road and Central Entrance and another location on East Sixth Street, both in Duluth. Kwik Trip also is still planning a location in front of Menards in Hermantown and an additional location in Superior.
