COSTCO PLANS OCTOBER OPENING
Costco is anticipated to open the doors to their brand-new Duluth location on Thursday, October 28th.
Nearly a year ago (after years of searching) Costco announced that they had selected a site for the company’s first location within the Twin Ports. The new, 161,266 square foot location will be located at the corner of Arrowhead Road and Haines Road, directly on the border of Duluth and Hermantown.
So, here’s the exciting part. The company’s website now officially lists the new location as opening in October while a social media ad states the specific date of October 28th.
Costco’s newest location will offer thousands of different products ranging from clothing and jewelry to electronics and furniture, along with grocery items, an optical, pharmacy, photo studio, tire and auto center, and gas station. Each location also offers a number of different services such as home installation services, travel services, auto services and more.
Now, if you thought to yourself, “wow, that’s a pretty quick timeframe to open considering there wasn’t a building on the site a few months ago…” then you’re right. Costco is notorious for being able to build their warehouse buildings in record time, often 16 weeks or less. While site work at the Duluth location has been underway since early spring, the physical building didn’t begin to go up until the beginning of July.
This will be Costco’s second Northern Minnesota location with the other being in Baxter. The company has 10 other locations spread throughout the state in St. Cloud, the Twin Cities and Rochester.
Costco is anticipated to be open from 10am to 8:30pm Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm Saturdays and 10am to 6:00pm Sundays. The new store will be located at 4611 W Arrowhead Road.
