Hereβs a quick glimpse at the progress that has been made on Moment Apartments since construction began just less than three months ago.
Moment Apartments is a new 10-story mixed-use project being developed by Sherman Associates at the corner of Portland and 7th. When complete, the new building will be home to 222 apartments, along with 15,300 square feet of commercial space (which will include a daycare facility), space for Firefighters for Healing, and indoor parking. In addition, the building will be connected to the Downtown Skyway System and eventually could also be connected to Hennepin Healthcare.
Firefighters for Healing will have a Transitional Healing Center located on the second floor of the building. The space will include 12 βhome-away-from-homeβ suites for families close to Downtown Minneapolis hospitals where a family member is receiving care. In addition, the suites can be used as recovery space for discharged injured firefighters and burn victims before they return home.
Residential units within the building will range in size from studio to two-bedroom layouts. Residents will have access to a pool, sauna, hot tub, sports simulator, work-from-home space along with a rooftop lounge. Each unit will also feature smart home technology and the buildingβs total energy will be offset by two solar gardens that Sherman Associates developed in 2019.
Kraus Anderson is constructing the mixed-use project which was designed by ESG Architecture & Design. If youβre interested in learning more about the project or if youβre looking to find more renderings of what the project will look like once complete, click here.
Work on Moment Apartments (500 S 7thStreet) is anticipated to be complete in fall 2022.
