CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

Construction has begun on a new residential development located at the corner of Raymond and University in the South St. Anthony Park neighborhood.

Kraus Anderson Development is constructing the new six-story building on a site that was previously home to a two-story commercial building that was constructed in 1960. The site is located midway between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul and is just one block away from the Raymond Avenue Green Line station.

The somewhat trapezoidal shaped site is bounded by University Avenue W, Raymond Avenue and W Territorial Road with a commercial building running along the western side.

Designed by UrbanWorks Architecture, the new building will be home to 220 market-rate apartments along with a number of residential amenities and indoor parking. Units will include alcove, studio, one and two-bedroom layouts that range in size from 500 to 1,100 square feet. Amenity spaces will include a fitness center, a community incubator space, clubroom, outdoor courtyard with pool and a rooftop patio.

Parking will be enclosed and located on two underground levels with access to the parking areas being provided via W Territorial Road.

Work on 2383 University Avenue W is anticipated to be complete in summer 2022.
