Chef Ann Ahmed is planning a new restaurant and bar in the Loring Park neighborhood.
Gai Noi is the name of the new establishment which is anticipated to open later this year in a space along Loring Park that was previously home to 4Bells.
The name for the new restaurant comes from a short grain rice called βkhao gai noiβ which is found in the northern Xieng Khouang regions of Laos. The rice itself is small in shape and spotted in appearance and is often referred to as βlittle chickβ hence the chick featured in the logo. The logo was designed by Chicago-based Laotian artist Chantala Kommanivanh, who also designed the logos for sibling restaurants Lat14 Asian Eatery and KhΓ’luna.
Gai Noi will focus on Laotian cuisine and will include a full-service restaurant and bar, along with three private dining and event spaces, one of which will be a rooftop, that can accommodate 10 to 80 guests.
Details are still limited on what the exact menu and spaces of Gai Noi will look like, however you can be sure that we will post more details when they become available.
Gai Noi will be located at 1610 Harmon Place in the Loring Park neighborhood.
