One of the first buildings that will be a part of Highland Bridge is not only now under construction, but also a major retail tenant was just announced for its ground floor.

Located at the corner of Ford Parkway and Cretin Avenue, the five-story building will be home to apartments and a 51,000 square foot Lunds & Byerlys grocery store once complete. Ryan Companies, who is also the main developer for the entire Highland Bridge neighborhood, is the developer behind the project

The new building will home to 230 apartments with all but three of the units being market-rate. The apartments will be managed by Weidner Apartment Homes. Amenities within the building will include a large lobby along with meeting rooms, a fitness center and co-working space.

436 parking spaces will be included within the building. 210 parking spaces will be located on one underground level with an additional 226 spaces located on the ground floor of the building that will be available for customers of the retail tenants. Access to the parking will be provided via an alleyway with an entrance on Cretin Avenue.

Lund’s and Byerlys will relocate their store that is currently next door to the site into the new building. The new store will be 20 percent larger than its previous location and will feature two-levels of protected, indoor parking. Lund’s & Byerlys will continue to keep their current location at 2128 Ford Parkway open until the new store is ready.

The new building has been designed in a way to fit in with the overall design aesthetic of Highland Bridge. The exterior will be clad largely in brick with the corner of the building featuring a turret-like tower that will reach 90 feet in height.

Highland Bridge is the name for Ryan Companies massive redevelopment project of the former Ford Motor Company assembly plant. The site will include over 3,000 residential units, over 150,000 square feet of retail space and 55 acres of green space when fully complete. To learn more about that project, click here.

2170 Ford Parkway is anticipated to be complete in 2022.
