Ever desired to get creative while enjoying a drink or two? Like, we're talking hands on creative. Good news, you'll be able to do just that come this summer when a new business opens in Minneapolis' Warehouse District.

Upstairs Circus is a craft workshop and bar based out of Denver, Colorado. Currently the company has two locations in Denver and when they open in The Washington building at the corner of Washington Avenue N and Second Avenue this summer it will be the company's first out of state location.

The Washington underwent an extensive renovation, a renovation that literally touched every corner of the building, that was completed last year. Men's retailer Bonobos opened a showroom in a retail space on the ground floor of the building last fall. Upstairs Circus will open within space on the second floor of the building sometime in May or June.

NOW WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE A CIRCUS?

Is it the place or the people in it that make Upstairs Circus truly a circus?

Well, when the company's slogan is "Create, Drink, & Be Merry" there's no doubt you're going to have a good time. Customers, or "patrons" as they are called by Upstairs Circus, start out by booking a spot in a Project Social ( a DIY art & craft project of some sort) online before arriving. Then the patron chooses a project from the "Project Menu", a list of over 25 different DIY projects ranging from jewelry making to woodworking, they even have projects creating items for your pets.

Now as if craft and art making wasn't fun enough, they've added in an element that everyone seems to live; alcohol.

Each location has a full bar serving local and national craft beers, wines, and speciality cocktails. Theres a few food items on the menu too just incase you get hungry and you're also encouraged to bring in or order in your own food too if you'd like. Oh yes, they even have a Happy Hour menu.

Projects can cost anywhere from $35-$39 a person and can take from one hour up to three hours to complete. And don't worry, there's a slew of staff there to help you out with any questions or challenges you may have...and there's that Bartender.

Upstairs Circus is expected to open in June at 125 Washington Avenue N.
