Red Cow owner plans new restaurant concept in the North Loop

North Loop. You're well aware of a delicious restaurant called Red Cow, located on 1st Avenue North. This fall, getting ready to meet Red Cow's sibling, Red Rabbit.

To be located at 201 Washington Avenue North in a 116 year old building that formerly was an auto repair shop, Red Rabbit will specialize in pizzas, pastas, salads, and oysters. Red Cow owner Luke Shrimp has partnered with the former head chef at Parella in Uptown, Todd MacDonald, on the new concept.

The main idea behind the restaurant is for it to be "neighborhood casual," meaning area residents could stop by as many as three times a week to grab dinner or a few drinks. While the main focus will be on the pizzas and pastas, there will be a number of other shareable dishes offered along with a few additional entrees such as steak or fish.

Inside the 5,000 square foot restaurant there will be seating for around 125 with space for about 70 more on an outdoor three season patio that will be called "The Greenhouse".

The patio will be covered with a retractable glass enclosure that allows the space to be open on to the elements on nice days and of course closed off on those not so nice days. The Greenhouse will also have space for growing herbs for the kitchen and bar.

On the patio guests will be able to sip on drinks from bartender Ian Lowther who is responsible curating the drinks found at all Red Cow locations company wide.

Red Rabbit plans to open in the Fall.
