NOW OPEN: METEOR

A new “elevated dive bar” has officially opened in North Minneapolis.

Meteor is located at 2027 N 2nd Street, just a few blocks away from the intersection of N Washington Avenue and W Broadway Avenue. The space most recently was home to Mr. Steven’s Snuggery.

Meteor serves a number of high quality and affordable cocktails, boilermakers, and other delicious drinks. The 120-year-old building that the bar calls home has been updated with the carpet having been removed from the walls to reveal brick, new mid-century modern light fixtures having been added along with new flooring and an amazing antique back bar. In total, the space seats around 50 individuals.

The bar was created with those who work in the bar industry in mind. Meteor is meant to be a place where you can swing by to grab an elevated drink when you’re off from work or also if you’re simply just hopping around town with friends, family or maybe just yourself (there’s nothing wrong with that).

Robb Jones and Elliot Manthey are the ones behind Meteor. Jones previously was the Bar Director for Gavin Kaysen’s restaurants (Spoon & Stable, Demi, and Bellecour) while Manthey was one of the skilled Bartenders at Spoon and Stable. The two have also brought on Tyler Kleinow, who for the past seven years has been at Marvel Bar located in the North Loop.

Meteor is located at 2027 N 2nd Street and is open every day, except for Tuesdays, from 4pm to 2am.
