CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON NORTH LOOP GREEN

The moment many of you have been waiting for has finally arrived. Construction on North Loop Green has officially begun.

Site prep for the massive mixed-use project began earlier this week on a 3.4-acre site that is located between the I-94 viaduct and N 5^th Street (across from Target Field) in the North Loop neighborhood. When complete in 2024, North Loop Green will be home to both retail and office space, hundreds of residential units, indoor parking, and a one-acre public park called “The Green.”

As a part of the development, two-buildings will be constructed that will be linked via a skyway. The tallest of the two buildings will stand 36-stories and will be home to 350 apartments and 100 short term rental units. The second building will stand 14-stories tall and will include nearly 350,000 square feet of next generation office space along with 17,000 square feet of commercial space.

The commercial space within North Loop Green will be located on the shorter tower’s ground floor and 14^th floor where there is planned to be a restaurant and bar that will be open to the public and will offer stunning views of the Downtown skyline.

North Loop Green is being developed by Texas-based Hines who is partnering with AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust and Marquee Development. Hines is an international real estate firm that has completed several other projects in Minneapolis including the adjacent T3 building along with one of Minnesota’s tallest buildings, the Wells Fargo Center.

Minneapolis-based ESG Architecture and Design is responsible for the design of North Loop Green. Kraus Anderson, another Minneapolis-based company who happens to have had a long relationship with Hines, will be the General Contractor that is responsible for the project’s construction.
