Still in the lack of news lull...

Hello there!
It's been a long time since I've posted... and I'm sorry for that! Duluth is still kind of in it's retail development news lull season. The pick up usually starts this coming week and into May where news finally starts popping up about projects for the next year, especially those over winter. Even with this lull things are still happening.

The planning commission approved the plans for Bluestone Commons and it's 248 units and 40,000 square feet of retail. Due to the size of the project it will be completed in a few phases. The first though will being construction this fall and will be ready for students in the fall of 2013. Below is the final plan for the development.

Work has begun on Noodles and Company at the Miller Hill Mall. Some of you may have noticed this past month how the interior of the former Great American space was demolished and I am sure most of you have now noticed the hole that has appeared on the exterior of the space. It's really unknown the extent that this renovation will take on. The mall performed the renovation that took place when Walgreens vacated it's space a few years ago. The took a lifestyle center approach to redesigning the space into five new spaces. Now whether are not they will take that same approach for the former Great American space it us known. However we do know that they will be dividing the space into three spaces. One which will be Noodles and Company, another is rumored to be a mongolian grill, and the third is still open. I feel as if Teavana could possibly be opening in that third space. What it is known is that Noodles and Company does have strict architectural guidelines, so we can be assured that their space will be quite nice. We will have to keep our eyes peeled to see what happens!
