Lowry Avenue NE continues to see more and more development, this time around itβs a proposal for a new residential building.
Minneapolis-based Perkins Levin plans to develop a site at the corner of NE Lowry Avenue and 2nd Street NE. The project would be constructed on what today is two different parcels of land located at 125 NE Lowry Avenue and 2512 2nd Street NE.
Two existing, single story commercial buildings would be demolished in order to make way for a six-story building that would be home to 190 apartment units and 150 indoor parking spaces.
Units within the building would range in size and include studio, alcove, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. On the first floor of the building there would also be seven, one-bedroom walk-up townhome units.
Residents would have access to amenity spaces located on the first and second levels of the building. Those spaces would include a ground floor lobby, co-working space, entertainment suite, fitness center, along with an outdoor amenity space complete with pool, grilling stations, fire pits and space for outdoor activities.
Designed by Doran Architecture, the new building would be constructed with concrete on the lower two floors and first floor with the remaining five floors being constructed using wood framing. The exterior of the building would be clad in a mix of brick, metal panel and cement panel.
Plans for 125 NE Lowry Avenue will go before the Minneapolis Planning Commission Committee of the Whole for feedback, this Thursday, December 10th, at 4:30pm.
