Housing planned for 15th Avenue SE

More housing is on it's way to Dinkytown.

Located blocks away from the epicenter of Dinkytown's recent housing burst where hundreds of new apartments units have been built, Elmhurst Properties is planning a new small scale residential building.

Located at 823 15th Avenue SE, the residential building will include four stories and 10 apartment units. The design of the structure features a pitched roof, cement board siding, and brick accents. Units within the building include 8 one bedroom units, 1 three bedroom unit, and 1 studio.

The apartments within the building have a range of square footages. The studio is relatively small at 347 square feet, while the one bedrooms range from 641 to to 777 square feet. The three bedroom unit will be 1027 square feet. Overall the apartments are smaller than the average new construction that has occurred within the area within the past 5 years.

The project is located in a prime location, close to the University of Minnesota's athletic village (which will soon swell with an ambitious $120 million renovation and expansion), the University of Minnesota, and a number of bus routes. It's a perfect location for a University of Minnesota student to call home.

Construction is likely to begin this summer with a completion in summer 2017.
