A Downtown office building located directly next door to U.S. Bank Stadium is slated to be converted into apartments.
Designed by BKV Group, the building formerly known as the Strutwear Knitting Company Building would receive a top to bottom transformation. Standing 10-stories tall, the 261,457 square foot building located at 1010 7th Street SE would be converted into 179 market-rate apartments.
Plans for the ten-story buildingβs transformation include residential units, retail space and amenity space. Units within the building would include studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts. One three-bedroom unit would be located on levels nine and ten.
The basement level would become home to an atrium with lounge space along with two large retail spaces, a fitness center, group fitness room, golf simulator, bike lounge and residential storage space. The first floor would include 12 apartments along with a large clubroom, lounge space, mail room, package room and leasing offices. Other amenities within the project would include an art studio, an outdoor rooftop patio, grilling areas, walking paths, lounge spaces, fire pits, water features and a dog run.
As a part of the transformation of the building, a common drop off/drive and a 14-space surface parking lot would be constructed on the South side of the building and accessed from 11th Avenue S.
554 parking spaces would be located within an existing parking structure that is connected to the building. While the parking spaces would be managed by another company, residents would have the ability to rent a space if desired.
Construction the conversion of the 1010 building is anticipated to begin in Spring 2020.
