CUB READIES TO OPEN ITS SMALLEST STORE YET

A “new way to Cub” is almost here.

Cub Food’s first venture into a small format design officially opens on May 2nd. The new store is located at 4601 Snelling Avenue S on the ground floor of the soon to be completed residential development, Lowa46.

Cub Minnehaha will cover 46,000 square feet of space, half the space of a typical Cub store, and will feature a new interior design and a ton of new and exciting store features.

If you’ve been to a recently renovated Cub you’ve probably seen their Popcorn Shop which offers 7 different flavors of freshly popped popcorn. The Minnehaha location will also have that popular Popcorn Shop and even more including a Burrito Bar where you can order a custom burrito, bowl or salad and a Juicery that will offer freshly squeezed cold-pressed juices, infused water and made-to-order custom smoothies.

Other features within the store include a self-serve kombucha tap with five different flavors that you can get in a 16oz cup or a 32 or 64oz growler. The store will also feature a Refresh Shop that will serve Caribou Coffee and ice cream. The best part about that Refresh Shop is that it’ll have a walk-up window from the street which means you don’t even have to go inside to get some ice cream during those Summer months. A panini bar, sushi bar, hot food bar, fresh salad bar and a full-service meat and seafood counter will also be found within the store. Seriously, the list just goes on and on.

Now, even with the smaller footprint you’ll still find everything you’d find in a full size Cub. The difference? Instead of 20 types of mayo you might only find five. Maybe that’s for the better?

Cub Minnehaha will have grand opening events all day long every weekend from May 2nd to May 19th. That burrito bar already has us planning a trip.
