A mixed-use project has been proposed for a site located along bustling University Avenue.
Located at 2250 University Avenue W the project would stand five stories tall and feature 123 apartments and 10,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
Units within the building would range in size and include studios, one bedroom, two bedroom and three-bedroom units. Residents would have access to a large ground floor lobby located off of Hampden Avenue along with a large amenity space on level two and another amenity space on level five.
27 public parking spaces would be provided on the ground floor for retail tenants. Another 115 parking spaces for residents would be located on the ground floor and second floor of the building. Underground parking unfortunately was not an option for the site due to a high-water table and contaminated soil.
Urbanworks is the architecture firm who designed the project. The exterior of the building is proposed to be clad in brick, fiber cement panels and glass. Many units within the building would have access to outdoor balconies that would either be hung or recessed into the buildingβs faΓ§ade.
Construction is anticipated to begin later this year with anticipated completion in 2020.
