Next up for the development scene along Washington Avenue? A 27-story mixed-use building at a prime intersection.
While details are limited, we wanted to make sure we gave you a heads up on a new proposal that is in the works for a site located at the intersection of Washington Avenue and N First Avenue.
CA (formerly CA Ventures) is planning a mixed-use project on a site that is today home to a five-story commercial building. The commercial building would be demolished, and, in its place, a 27-story mixed-use building would be constructed. The new building would include over 400 residential units along with ground floor commercial space.
This isnβt CAβs first project in the area, in fact the company is currently building a 21-story mixed-use project directly next door. CA also plans to begin construction next year on a 26-story mixed-use project at 200 Central Avenue (Alia was originally planned for this site) and is working on a proposal for a large mixed-use project in the heart of Dinkytown.
ESG Architecture & Design is designing the proposal for 17 N Washington Avenue. More information on the project will be available next month when plans are presented to the Minneapolis Planning Commission.
Weβll be sure to post more details about the proposal once they become available. Until then, comment away with your thoughts on the initial details regarding the proposal.
