Raising Cane’s is planning their third Minneapolis location, this time around it will include a drive thru.
The popular chicken joint is planning a new location at the site of a former Arby’s located at the corner of E Lake Street and Snelling Avenue in the Longfellow neighborhood. The site in which Raising Cane’s will occupy was damaged during the uprising in response to the murder of George Floyd.
The new location will use the existing foundation on site which will therefore allow Raising Cane’s to include a drive-thru within their building. If you’re unaware, this a win for Raising Cane’s as drive thrus were banned within the City of Minneapolis in 2019. However, there are a few ways around the ordinance, such as utilizing a foundation or building that previously included a drive thru.
Designed by ADA Architects, the 3,727 square foot building will feature a large prep kitchen, serving area, indoor seating and a single lane drive thru. In addition, a surface parking lot on site will include space for 40 vehicles.
Raising Cane’s is anticipated to open in the fall at 3000 Snelling Avenue.
